The Event Logger

(Not available in open-source version).

The Event Logger allows a site admin to look at a log of information about the http requests that have been processed by the site. Http 'event' information will be logged only if the "Enable Event Log" box is checked in the system params configuration interface accessed from the admin's "Manage... --> Config" pulldown menu. The following URL:

http://<your_domain>/metadot/index.pl?isa=Metadot::SystemApp::EventLog&op=show

can be used to display some of the logged information. The interface shown in the figure actually displays only a subset of the info recorded; see the event_log table in the database to access all the recorded information. The event_log table is cleaned of entries over N days old by the md_clean.pl script, where N is specified as a command-line argument to the script. See the installation instructions for information about setting up this script as a 'cron' job.
